Children and Youth

Our Faith Development Team and entire church community work together to provide a safe and nurturing place for children. Nursery care is provided each Sunday for children under 5 years old. Children begin each Sunday service in the sanctuary with their families. Activity bags are available in the entryway for kids to use during church services.

Children ages 3 and older are invited to join their peers in Church School. During most services, children, youth, and teachers leave for church school after the scripture reading and a Children's Moment. Church School teachers work with Sparkhouse faith curriculum to teach bible stories, share our faith values, and promote a sense of community and belonging.

Programming for Teens is led by a devoted group of adults, who offer discussion and activities centered around our teens's questions and interests.

The first Sunday of each month is an intergenerational service, and all church school classes stay in worship. These services include storytelling, music, art, and activities which invite participation of all ages.

Youth Mission & Service Activities

Youth involvement in mission and service is a central component of our faith development program. Our children and youth have worked with the LOUCC Green Team on helping to restore outdoor areas, raising money for Oregon Food Bank, putting together mission bags for unhoused people, and volunteering at Eloheh Farm.

Summer Camp

Each year, a number of our students attend Summer camp at our local Central Pacific Conference camps, Camp Adams in Oregon.

Confirmation

We offer a confirmation class for youth ages 13-16, where students explore their own faith, grow in their sense of community, and develop a deeper appreciation for justice and service in the world. Additional information about Confirmation can be found here.
